WHERE WE ARE
Sambuca di Sicilia, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy 2016, is a small town in the province of Agrigento. The landscapes, the food and wine culture and the cultural heritage make it a popular destination for many visitors, who want to enjoy the Sicilian cultural heritage, and even more so for 'wine lovers' in search of high quality wines.
Sambuca Zabut, the ancient name of the village, was founded by Emir Al Zabut (from the Arabic "Il Magnifico") after the landing of the Arabs on the island in 827.
The old Saracen district, testimony of Mediterranean domination, preserves the Arab structure intact, characterized by narrow alleys and courtyards which house ancient residences that have recently been reevaluated through the municipal project "1 euro houses". The initiative attracted many visitors, looking for a place full of traditions and culture, which made Sambuca their second home.
The town is located in the heart of the Belìce valley, in a strategic position between the three western provinces of Sicily: about 80 kilometers from Palermo and the Cattredale of Monreale, from Agrigento and the Valley of the Temples, from Trapani and its salt pans.
The beach of Porto Palo di Menfi, which reconfirms the Blue Flag year after year, is 30 kilometers from Sambuca.
